YVB Hosts Roundtable on Youth, Elections & Digital Challenges- 24 Speakers and 150 Students Participate Under the Chairmanship of Barrister Tareque Akbar Khondakar A significant roundtable discussion on youth political awareness, the upcoming national elections and the challenges of the digital era was held in Chattogram. Organized by Youth Voice of Bangladesh, the event took place on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Zilla Parisad Auditorium, Chattogram. Titled “Youth, Election and Digital Challenges,” the roundtable brought together 150 students from various universities across the country, alongside media professionals, researchers, political analysts, and emerging young leaders. A total of 24 speakers participated in the discussion. Speakers were selected under four designated categories: Governance and Public Service; Education and Academia; Law and Judiciary; and Media and Journalism. Under the Governance and Public Service category, speakers included the Honorable Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation, Dr. Shahadat Hossain; Political & International relations and Security Analyst Major (Retd.) Rezaul Karim; Director of Chattogram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Baby Hasan; and Founder President of Nari Oikko Bangladesh (NOBA), Jesmina Khanam. Preparation Meeting for the Round Table Discussion on: “Youth, Upcoming Election & Digital Challenges” Organised by Youth Voice of Bangladesh (YVB), Chattogram City Working Committee A preparatory meeting for a round table discussion titled “Youth, Upcoming Election & Digital Challenges” was held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Beverly Hill residence of the Chairman on Chatteshwary Road, Chattogram. The meeting was attended by members of Youth Voice of Bangladesh (YVB) Chattogram City Working Committee. During the meeting, the core ideas, objectives, and key discussion points of the upcoming round table were clearly outlined by Barrister Tareque Akbar Khondakar, Chairman of YVB. Addressing the youth participants, he stated, “The future election is not limited to the ballot box; the digital space, the truth of information, and responsible behavior are now integral parts of the electoral process.” The discussion particularly focused on the role and responsibilities of young voters, the risks posed by artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and fake content, and the impact of rumors and propaganda on social media platforms—especially Facebook. UK Reunion of Former YVB Members: Discussion on Youth Voting Rights & the Upcoming National Election On December 14, 2025, a reunion of UK-based former members of Youth Voice of Bangladesh (YVB) was held at a restaurant in London. The event was attended by local leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), representatives of youth organizations, journalists from various print and electronic media outlets, as well as volunteers from different wings of the party, including Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, and Mahila Dal. The primary objectives of the reunion were to reconnect former UK-based members of YVB and to hold discussions on the return of Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of the BNP, to Bangladesh after 17 years, alongside an exchange of views on the country’s current political landscape. U.S. Embassy and Youth Voice of Bangladesh (YVB) Hold Constructive Meeting on Strengthening Future Cooperation A meeting was held between Mr. Eric Geelan, Political-Economic Counsellor of the U.S. Embassy and Barrister Tareque Akbar Khondakar, Chairman of Youth Voice of Bangladesh (YVB), to discuss the organization’s ongoing activities, future plans and potential areas of collaboration. The meeting took place on 07 December 2025 at 6:00 PM at Hotel Radisson Blu in Chattogram. Mr. Firoze Ahmed, Political Specialist at the U.S. Embassy, along with other embassy officials, were present at the meeting. Founding members of Youth Voice of Bangladesh also participated. During the discussion, Mr. Eric Geelan praised the initiatives and activities of Youth Voice of Bangladesh under the leadership of Barrister Tareque Akbar Khondakar, describing them as impactful and commendable for effectively engaging the youth of Bangladesh.
