Youth Voice of Bangladesh Chattogram City Working Committee 2025 Announced: A 137-Member Team of Promising Young Leaders Aged Between 16 and 50 Formed-
Youth Voice of Bangladesh (YVB), one of the country’s leading youth leadership-based organisation, officially announced the Chattogram City Working Committee 2025 on Thursday, 29 May 2025. The newly formed committee comprises 137 young men and women selected from 42 universities and colleges, aged between 16 and 50. These 137 members were selected through an online application and registration process, symbolizing the organization’s commitment to democratic practices, transparency, and participatory expansion. The approval of this new committee was signed by the organization’s Founder & Chairman, Barrister Tareque Akbar Khondakar, reflecting the organization’s responsible leadership and structural discipline. The committee includes both young students and experienced professionals, aiming to combine youthful energy with practical experience to enhance the dynamism of YVB’s activities. Among the members are students, lawyers, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, professionals, college lecturers, and social workers, forming a diverse structure expected to make YVB’s presence in Chattogram more effective and multi-dimensional.
The Chattogram City General Council 2025 is scheduled to be held after Eid-ul-Adha, where the new members will engage in introductions, discussions, and strategic planning for future initiatives. Immediately following this General Council, steps will be taken to form a new youth-led Working Committee for Dhaka, further expanding and organizing the organization’s structure on a national scale.
Previously, the last Chattogram City Working Committee was formed in 2016–2017, with Dr. Munira Khondakar as President and Arefin Billah as General Secretary. Under their leadership, YVB successfully implemented several impactful programs in Chattogram, including youth leadership workshops, social awareness campaigns, and inter-university student conventions. Thousands of both local and international students actively participated in these activities, which showcased YVB’s organizational strength and youth engagement.
Youth Voice of Bangladesh (YVB) began its journey on 21 February 2013, marking International Mother Language Day with celebratory rallies held simultaneously in Dhaka, Chattogram, and Altab Ali Park in London. These events reflected unity, language consciousness, and human values among youth both at home and abroad, establishing a historic milestone. Since its inception in 2013, YVB has successfully conducted over 250 youth development programs in London, Dhaka, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. This is considered a remarkable achievement for a youth leadership-based organization within such a short time.
With this newly formed 2025 committee, YVB Chattogram is expected to move forward with stronger organization, innovation, and action-oriented initiatives, continuing to serve as a vanguard for positive change among the youth of Bangladesh.
