A meeting was held between Mr. Eric Geelan, Political-Economic Counsellor of the U.S. Embassy and Barrister Tareque Akbar Khondakar, Chairman of Youth Voice of Bangladesh (YVB), to discuss the organization’s ongoing activities, future plans and potential areas of collaboration.

The meeting took place on 07 December 2025 at 6:00 PM at Hotel Radisson Blu in Chattogram. Mr. Firoze Ahmed, Political Specialist at the U.S. Embassy, along with other embassy officials, were present at the meeting. Founding members of Youth Voice of Bangladesh also participated.

During the discussion, Mr. Eric Geelan praised the initiatives and activities of Youth Voice of Bangladesh under the leadership of Barrister Tareque Akbar Khondakar, describing them as impactful and commendable for effectively engaging the youth of Bangladesh. He further stated that the U.S. Embassy sees potential for future joint initiatives with YVB, particularly in youth-focused programs, leadership development and policy-dialogue–based events. The meeting is expected to play an encouraging role in strengthening mutual cooperation, exchanging development-oriented ideas and fostering future partnership opportunities.
